Membership Care

As most of you know, the Membership Care Committee's mission is to provide assistance to our church families. As Methodists, we often use food to show our concern for them. Whenever there is an illness or death in the immediate family, we deliver a meal to the home.

As our church continues to grow, there is a greater need for more meals. Since emergencies happen suddenly, it would be very helpful if we could keep a few casseroles in the church freezer for this purpose. When you are preparing a casserole or pot of homemade soup for your family, please consider making a second one for member care to deliver as needed. Please mark it for Member Care and include the name of the dish and any special instructions for heating or cooking if needed. It's best to use disposable cookware so the family doesn't have to worry about returning your dishes. If that isn't possible, be sure to put your name on your dishes. There will be a Member Care sheet on the door of the large freezer in the kitchen. Whenever you put a meal in the freezer, please list it on this sheet. That way, we can see what is available and when it was contributed. Also, you can check ahead of time to see if our supply is getting low before you make a dish. We would probably only need to have five or six on hand at one time.

The Membership Care committee was established to nurture, comfort and assist our church families in many different situations. Our members do much more than just provide meals. If you would like to know more about what we do...or if you would like to join our committee, please contact Carol Sanders at p.s.6203@comcast.net or call me at 796-1174.

Thanks in advance to all you wonderful cooks for your help in taking care of our families.
