UMM News

Trinity United Methodist Men met on a ‘brisk’ Saturday morning to cook Brunswick stew in a second fundraiser to support the renovation of the church kitchen.  We prepared 329 quarts of stew and “walk-up” sales resulted in all stew being sold prior to 3 pm.  Thanks to all the volunteers’ superb effort in preparation of the ingredients and cooking and packing the stew, we grossed $2275.  We want to thank the volunteers who assisted in the preparation of the meat and vegetables on Friday evening, and especially the individuals who assisted in the delivery and return of the stew kettles, and braved the cool weather on Saturday morning to stir and cook the stew.  Special thanks go to Al and Ann Tougas, who again peeled and diced all of the onions on Friday; and Sue Morris, who acted as the “Head Sales Person” and cashier during the packaging and selling of the stew, as well as helping with the cleanup.  We also want to thank all of the church members who purchased the stew, as you were a big part of the outstanding success of this important fundraiser.

We hope you enjoy your stew!
